Seems like it was yesterday when I strolled into the local record store and picked up Okkervil River's "new" release "Don't Fall in Love With Everone You See" and their first "      Stars To Small To Use" EP back in 2002.  Since that day I have been "hooked" so to speak.  In past three years, Okkervil River has released three full lengths, including "Don't Fall In Love..." and the most recent, "Black Sheep Boy",  two split albums, one with Julie Dorian and the other with Shearwater, one EP and numerous other compilation tracks as well as a CD single for "For Real (there's notheing like the blinding light)" earlier this year.  SO Whats new? As I am sure you have already heard a follow up to this years amazing "Black Sheep Boy" is on it's way and here it is...

Okkervil River - No Key, No Plan

The fifth track, "Another Radio Song" is actually a reworked version of one of my all time favorite Okkervil River songs "For The Captain" and where this here blog site gets it name.  I have had the pleasure of hearing the album and let me tell you... It knocked my socks off. Rest assured it's being ordered on vinyl and cd, as well my tickets are already purchased for the upcoming show in Philly November 13 @ the Khyber!! 

Both Black Sheep Boy and Black Sheep Boy Appendix have already claimed their spot among my Top Albums of 2005
