So I will make a broad generalization... everyone likes some Bob Dylan. Right? I will make another generalization and say that most like Uncle Tupelo.... (if you don't, just play along) Combine the two and add a little Drive-By Truckers and you have The Murderers' Accordion.
The Murderers' Accordion
So Little Left To See
Slowblue Records
2005
This is one of those albums that took me off guard. I figured it was going to be another "run of the mill", alt-countryish, band but i was wrong. All of the aforementioned influences are extremely present on the album however So Little Left To See hits hard at the beginning and quickly worms it's way in to you brain with fun, knee slappin', dreamy, & powerful, country tinged urgency. Weird is definitely a stand out however one of my personal favorites has quickly become Eyes. Eyes is the type of song that you love or hate.... It is so damn catchy that you hate it because you can't stop singing it or love it for that same reason. Also the chorus maybe considered something off of HeeHAW! but it is great just the same.
Like always... you be the judge!
The Murderers' Accordion - Weird
The Murderers' Accordion - Eyes (sing it LOUD!... you know you want to)
Good call, glad someone got the hee haw influence, thanks for the writeup.
